Brochure Necessities

I was tasked with recreating a brochure for Island Point Lodge, a fishing lodge in Petersburg, Alaska. Their 2023 version of their brochure was outdated and did not display the images that my client wanted. My client wanted new, updated images from people who have visited the fishing lodge in the past year. It was essential to my client that I kept a chart for fishing, so that customers would know the best times to catch certain fish. Additionally, I wanted to make sure there were plenty of images of halibut- the main fish that people often come for. My client also wanted to show more than just fish that was caught, but the beautiful scenary Alaska has to offer. I have been to this location twice, so I understand the needs of my client well because of this.

The Original Brochure

When looking at this brochure, I had noticed that the formatting of the text and images were not up to the standards that my client wanted. During our meeting, I had also been tasked with looking through his large gallery of images to choose from. Many of which were a bit difficult to locate. I ensured that the images I was finding was similar to the images in this brochure. This means in locations where large fish were caught, I replaced the images with large fish.

The Final Brochure

My client was very happy with the images that I chose. I had picked about 20 photos for him to narrow down. The brochure was placed in a template for him to send off to a company that would print out hundreds of copies of the brochure to be shown at conventions. The text needed to remain the same in order to convey the mission and ideals of the company.
